Cruise Insurance

When you get a quote for a single trip policy you'll be asked if any part of your trip includes a cruise. When you answer 'yes' to this question, cruise cover will be added to your policy.

Cruise cover is automatically included on our annual multi trip policies.

As well as extending your policy to cover your cruise, our cruise cover also provides:
• Cover to rejoin the cruise should you need medical treatment on land
• £150 for each port stop on your itinerary that is cancelled after the trip start date
• A payment of £100 on Essential and £150 on Premier for each 24 hours you are confined to your cabin on the orders of the ship's medical officer (up to a maximum £1,000 on Essential and £1,500 on Premier)
• On our Premier policy, you also have cover up to £1,000 for transport and accommodation to get you back onto the cruise should you miss the scheduled departure of the cruise because a pre-booked excursion is late returning.

Your policy schedule will confirm if cruise cover is included.

• If you're under 65 years of age, our single trip policy can cover you for a trip of up to 366 days. 
• If you're 65 to 79 years of age, our single trip policy can cover you for a trip of up to 90 days. 
• If you're 80 years of age or over, our single trip policy can cover you for a trip of up to 31 days.
• Our annual multi-trip policy is available for anyone over 16 years and under 79 years of age.

Please note, these age limits and policy restrictions apply to both our Essential and Premier levels of cover.

Yes, we're able to provide cover for a number of medical conditions. If you require cover, we must be told about all pre-existing medical conditions for everyone named on the policy.

If we're unable to provide cover for anyone's specific conditions you'll be shown this online or told this on the call before you pay for the policy. Once you've taken out a policy, your policy documents will confirm what medical conditions you've told us about and whether cover is provided for them.

We'll either be able to provide cover for all the pre-existing conditions a person has, or none of them. For this reason it is very important that we're told about all conditions for everyone on the policy. If we're unable to cover a person's pre-existing conditions the premium will reflect that this cover has been removed.

Unfortunately we can't give you a quote if you're waiting to have tests or investigations (or waiting for the results of any tests or investigations) for symptoms unless those symptoms are known to be directly related to an existing and already diagnosed condition.

If we can’t cover your medical condition or the premium is higher than you expected, help is still available. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have created a Medical Cover Firm Directory. The directory lists all the firms that may be able to provide a policy to cover your medical conditions.

If you have cruise cover, the cover limits include the cost of couriering your baggage to your cruise vessel if it has already left the port.

If your baggage is delayed or lost in transit, you should tell the company that is transporting your baggage within 24 hours of discovery and ask them to complete a Property Irregularity Report or provide you with a baggage loss receipt.

If you have chosen to add our baggage cover to your policy and your baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours from when you arrive at your destination, your policy provides cover for the purchase of necessary items: up to £250 on our Essential policy and up to £500 on our Premier policy.

If your baggage is stolen, you should report this to the local police within 24 hours of discovering the theft and obtain a written report. You can claim up to £2,000 on our Essential policy and up to £3,000 on our Premier policy for stolen or lost items. There is a single item limit and total valuables limit of £300 on Essential and £500 on Premier.

If your baggage is lost, you should report the loss to an appropriate person depending on where the loss occurs; for instance, if you lost a ring while in a restaurant, you'd report that to the manager of the restaurant, if you lost a ring while in your accommodation you'd report that to the manager or owner of the accommodation. You must obtain written evidence that you have reported the loss.

There is no separate age limit if you are going on a cruise.

Our annual multi-trip policy has an upper age limit of 79 years. However, the maximum trip length we can cover for anyone between the age of 65 and 79 years is 90 days or 31 days if you're 80 years of age or over.
