Q. How can we get LV= family and group travel insurance?
A. We can provide family and group travel insurance for up to ten people on one policy as long as we know each traveller's relationship to the policyholder - you don't even have to be in the same family group.
Everyone in the group will benefit from the same level of cover as if they were each taking out an individual travel insurance policy. There's also no upper age limit on single trip policies, so this is handy to know if you are travelling with seniors in your family or group.
Q. What's the difference between an Essential and Premier policy?
A. We offer two levels of annual travel insurance to suit your needs - Essential and Premier.
Our Essential policy offers up to £10 million emergency medical cover, £5,000 cancellation cover and £25,000 personal accident cover.
Premier offers everything that Essential does but offers £10,000 cancellation cover plus extra cover for:
Q. We have a European Health Insurance card (EHIC). Do we need travel insurance?
A. It is advisable to take out travel insurance in addition to the European Health Insurance card (EHIC).
The EHIC will cover you when you're travelling in certain countries that the UK has an agreement with and it entitles you to free or reduced medical costs at state hospitals in European Economic Area countries and Switzerland.
An EHIC is not an alternative to travel insurance as it won't cover you for any costs if you need to cancel or cut a trip short due to illness, get special assistance such as an air ambulance, or arrange for someone to travel to you if it's medically necessary.
