LV= Wealth and Wellbeing Research Programme, 6th Edition

3 minutes

Every quarter we survey UK adults, tracking changes to their financial and mental wellbeing. Here we share the results of our November 2021 report.

Our Wealth and Wellbeing Research Programme tracks the impact of the pandemic on people's financial and mental wellbeing

Since June 2020 we’ve surveyed 4,000+ nationally representative UK adults each quarter. The survey explores a variety of wealth and wellbeing subjects, including changes to finances, plans for retirement and mental health.

Our latest report shows that life after lockdown still has problems as people are starting to feel the pinch of rising prices. However, things are still much improved in comparison to the low point at the end of 2020. Incomes are on the rise, and fears of job losses are much lower than this time last year.

This quarter we also looked at the impact of the pandemic on consumer debt and we found that nearly a quarter of UK adults say they are in less debt than before the pandemic.

Of those surveyed this quarter:

  • 27% are concerned about rising prices
  • Only half as many say they're worried about losing their job as this time last year
  • 24% are in less debt than before the pandemic

We also share insights on:

  • Financial advice during the pandemic
  • ESG investments
  • Pensions consolidation
  • Financial advice on inheritance tax
  • Bank of Gran and Grandad
  • Debt
