In most cases. if you don't pay your Income Protection premiums, your cover will stop and your policy will be cancelled. You do have 60 days to pay a missed premium from its due date and we’ll send you a reminder to let you know if this happens. If you fail to pay within 60 days then we’ll cancel your policy and you will not be eligible for any refunds.
If your policy does get cancelled because you didn't pay your premiums, we can start it up again, as long as you let us know within six months of your first missed payment. This will be subject to payment of all the premiums you’ve missed and some additional health questions will be asked.
Sometimes it's not possible to restart policies when they have been cancelled. If this happens you'll need to contact your financial adviser and reapply for cover.
If you are struggling to pay your premiums at the moment, please get in touch with us, as we may be able to help.
