What are the most common types of Income Protection claim you pay?

In 2024, the five common reasons our customers claimed on their income protection insurance were:

• Musculoskeletal, including fractures (39% of claims)
  
• Cancer (21% of claims)
  
• Mental health (15% of claims)
  
• Heart-related (3% of claims)
  
• Stroke (3% of claims)

Overall we paid nearly £18.2m* in Income Protection claims.
