A message from our CEO, David Hynam
Once again, I’m delighted to take a quick look back at the past 12 months. We’ve seen another positive year of delivery for you, our members, and I also want to share my personal thanks for your continued trust and support in us as your life and pensions mutual. I don’t take that for granted.
Our teams have been focused on improving service for members and for advisers and it’s great that this has led to recognition from a wide range of areas, including the industry pension transfer service and seeing accolades for excellent claims support. We’ve also seen developments like our new online portals which are enabling even faster payments and the expansion of our advice service with long-term care planning.
I remain incredibly proud of Team LV= and our colleagues’ commitment to delivering award-winning products, services and advice. We were recognised as Moneyfacts Best Income Protection Provider for the 16th year running and earned Top Pension Provider status. We also won Insurer of the Year and multiple five-star Defaqto ratings for our lifetime mortgages, reflecting our commitment to delivering for our members and for our customers.
This year, we’ve strengthened our mutuality.
Our Member Community continues to grow, with over 4,500 member views shared through more than 70 surveys, polls and discussions all helping to shape the future of LV=. Your input has influenced a wide variety of activities, including our AGM event, our communications right through to brand advertising campaigns. And I see that as one of the real powers of mutuality in action. I’m very grateful to everyone who’s contributed to the Community over this past year.
In wider mutual activity, we are active participants in the global mutual federation, ICMIF and the UK’s Association of Financial Mutuals. Our teams have connected with like-minded organisations right around the world throughout 2025.
This year, we celebrated 20 years of our investment smoothing product which has really stood the test of time and consistently delivered stability and confidence for our members. In a very important milestone, we launched the UK’s first with-profits fixed term annuity, enabling more people to share in our mutual success.
We’ve also taken significant steps to make a difference well beyond financial services.
We saw the launch of LV= Together, shaped by our member feedback. This is our social impact programme supporting young people and social mobility through partnerships with The King’s Trust and with the Social Mobility Foundation with the aim of bringing positive changes at work and also broader across society. Through our autumn brand campaign, we’ve helped more people recognise LV= as an investment expert, making the most of their money.
Now we know that times remain challenging and we’ve continued to support members through our cost of living hub, through payment breaks and through exclusive benefits. As we look to 2026, our focus remains the same: delivering value, listening to you and building a stronger mutual future together.
