Insurance FAQs

What is a valuable?

With our home insurance, we define valuables as jewellery, watches, furs, items made of gold, silver and other precious metals, pictures and other works of art, stamp, coin and medal collections.

Our contents cover automatically covers valuables in the home with an individual value of £2,000 (£5,000 on Home Plus) or less. If you have any items individually worth more than £2,000, (£5,000 on Home Plus) you'll need to list these separately on your policy.

If you need to claim on your home insurance for any valuable items (such as jewellery, as shown in your documents), you'll need to provide proof of ownership and its value.

We accept professional valuations or original purchase receipts as proof of value for your specified items.
