Our saving and investment products

Our Smoothed Managed Funds are designed to offer you a calmer investment experience, by knowing that your money will not bear the full impact of daily market changes, whilst still giving you the potential for growth on your investments. These can be useful in the lead up to, or in retirement.

Smoothing helps reduce the impact of short-term market volatility, but your investment can still fall, especially in a prolonged downturn, which means you may get back less than you paid in. In rare and exceptional cases of extreme market volatility, we may need to pause smoothing. This means your smoothed managed funds would rise and fall in line with daily stock market fluctuations until smoothing is reintroduced.

You can invest in the LV= Smoothed Managed Fund range through our range of savings products, via your financial adviser. Your financial adviser will look at your personal circumstances, including your tax position, to work out which products are right for you.

This could be required if the underlying daily fund price was less than 80% of the value of the smoothed price, or in other exceptional circumstances.

In the rare event we do need to take this step, the fund would typically be valued on the underlying price or, at our discretion, on a daily gradual averaged price (except ISA which would be valued on the underlying price) until smoothing is reintroduced.
