Why use our advice service?

Our advisers will recommend and arrange the most suitable solution for you.

Here are some reasons to get in touch with us...

  • It’s advice - We’ll give you confidence by providing a personalised plan and recommendations based on your circumstances, objectives, and plans for the future.
  • It’s important - Pensions are often large amounts of money and you may well need to rely on this money for your lifetime. Some decisions are irreversible.
  • Confidence - Our Retirement Advisers have over 100 years worth of experience between them and will guide you through the advice process, explain the pros and cons and highlight any risks.
  • Offering peace of mind - Our advisers are fully qualified and strictly regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We’ll help you safely make the most of your money, and protect you from costly mistakes.
  • Here to help - We’ll be by your side each step of the way; research, recommendation, decision, application, and ongoing support. We’ll explain things clearly in plain English and avoid jargon.

It all starts with a chat

Call us for a free conversation, with no obligation. We’ll listen to you to understand what you’re hoping to achieve with your pension..

You’ll be allocated your own adviser to work with you from start to finish.

Our fees will be explained to you clearly and simply.

We’ll send you a welcome pack and some simple questionnaires, this will help us get to know you.

Research and recommendation

Your adviser will have a conversation with you to gather information and discuss your needs and objectives in detail. This will give us a clear picture of your circumstances and what you are trying to achieve.

We will undertake a full review of all your personal, financial, and pension information. We’ll pull all this information together to research and recommend the most suitable solution for you.

Your personalised plan will be presented and explained in a report, which we will send to you.

It’s important that you fully understand our recommendations, so we’ll arrange a time to explain the report and ensure you are clear what we are advising you to do. It’s always ok to ask us questions.

Set up your products

When you’re ready to proceed, we'll action any recommendations that we have made.

We’ll set everything up for you and keep you informed.

Fees and charges

When you pay for pension advice you buy the expertise of those people best placed to take you through the retirement planning process. This means you’re most likely to get the right outcome and best plan for your retirement.

Your initial consultation is free. For Defined Benefit (Final Salary) pension schemes we are required by regulations to charge an upfront fee (irrespective of the final advice).

We know how important it is to watch the pennies, so we make advice more accessible by offering our initial consultation and educational videos for free.

Where we do charge an upfront fee, such as for pension transfer advice or lifetime allowance advice, if this applies to you it will be explained clearly right at the start when you contact us.

For our ongoing service we charge 0.5% per annum, which is significantly lower than average based on a Which survey where more than 100 financial advisers were surveyed

Specialist advice we offer

We're also specialists in providing advice on these complex topics

Combining your pension pots into one

Do you know what pensions you have? How much are you paying in charges? Finding it difficult to keep track of them?

It’s easy to end up with quite a few pensions dotted about here and there. It can often be a good idea to combine them all into one, because:

  • The charges you pay might be significantly less on a new combined pension than on your current pensions
  • You may find it easier to keep track of what you have and to plan for the future
  • A new pension may offer other advantages, such as a more suitable choice of investments or more flexible options for accessing your money

Our advisers can look at your current pensions, discuss all your needs and priorities and then assess the best solution for you.

Defined benefit pension transfer

We have a number of pension transfer specialists who are trained and qualified to give advice about your defined benefit pension options.

What does this mean?

A defined benefit (DB) pension is sometimes known as a final salary or career average pension. It guarantees the amount of income you will get when you retire.

It is sometimes possible to “transfer out”. This means that the pension is converted into a pot of money which can be moved to a different pension and accessed in a variety of flexible ways.

If the value of your pension is more than £30,000 then it is a legal requirement to take advice before you can arrange to transfer your pension. This advice can only be given by a specially qualified pension transfer specialist.

Our pension transfer specialists have lots of experience in this field and the appropriate qualifications and our advice process puts your needs and future security at the heart of our recommendations.

We will carefully look at all your circumstances, needs and objectives and advise whether you should stay in your DB pension or transfer out into a different pension.

Because this is a complex area of advice it is important to use a company you can trust. We have many years of experience and have been appointed to deliver advice to the members of pension schemes with household names like Capita, Legal & General, Reassure and the Civil Aviation Authority Pension Scheme.

Annuity shop

Do you simply want to shop around for the best annuity rate without advice?

If you've already made your decision, we have just the service for you...

  • If you have already decided you want an annuity (a guaranteed income for life) and don’t need advice, then our Annuity Shop will help you make the most of your money.
  • We shop around the whole of the market for you to get the best rate.
  • Enhanced rates are available for medical conditions and lifestyle factors like smoking.
  • We do all the hard-work for you, we make sure you understand the options, we get quotes from all available providers, we find the best rate, and we liaise with companies to set up your new annuity.
