LV= have partnered with what3words to help you when stranded. Let's keep "I don't know where I am" in the past.

what3words is an address system which works globally, it divides the world into 3 x 3 metre squares and provides a unique three-word combination to each location. This makes a precise and simple way for anyone to find you. It works just as well as GPS coordinates, but a lot more easy to remember!

For example, 50.724037, -1.906536 becomes newest.dance.ends.

The app is completely free to download and can really help if you find yourself stuck! Just download the app before your journey and you're good to go. If the worst was to happen and your breakdown or you have an accident this means we can find you easily.

Is the what3words app free to use?

Does the app work if I don't have any internet connection

Why do I need what3words when I could use Google Maps?

what3words is different to Google Maps, as they split the world into 3 x 3 metre square locations, it makes it more precise to find an address.

Google Maps isn't so easy to share a location, if you were to take a wrong turn down a country lane, Google Maps would drop a pin, but typically this would be to a building or a postcode not an exact entrance whereas what3words would be the exact location.

In addition to dropping a pin onto Google Maps isn't that useful if you need to share that location with someone over the phone, it makes it extremely difficult where as giving 3 words would give them the exact location of where you are.
