Andrew, aged 65

Andrew’s elderly mother had recently died leaving him with an inheritance that he wished to invest. He was keen to invest this sum wisely knowing that his parents had worked hard for their money during their lifetimes.

The adviser talked through Andrew's situation and discussed his main priorities. He was very keen on tax efficiency and funded his cash ISA when finances allowed. He didn't feel very confident or knowledgeable about stocks and shares ISA's.

It was unlikely that he would need access to the inheritance money in the next 5 years. Although Andrew was in good health his main concern was the rising cost of nursing care homes should his health deteriorate in the future.


The adviser presented Andrew with an investment solution that meant that he could make full use of his ISAs in the future.
