LV= General Insurance (LV= GI), one of the largest car insurers in the UK, has paid out around £100,000 in less than 24 hours to its customers who live in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, following the flash floods that occurred earlier this week.
After reading reports in the news of the damage caused to cars from the heavy rainfall, LV= GI decided to proactively contact its car insurance customers to see if they needed support. Since speaking to its customers, LV= GI has already managed to help a number of them and process their claims. One of the customers also works for the NHS and as a thank you for the support they’ve provided through COVID-19, LV= GI waived the excess on the claim.
Martin Milliner, Claims Director at LV= GI, said: “When we saw the reports in the news of the damage the storms were causing in Kirkcaldy, we felt that the right thing to do was to try and get in touch with our customers and see if they needed our help. As a business, we take a lot of pride in trying to do everything we can to help our customers and we’re really pleased that for many we’ve been able to help them in the space of just 24 hours.”
