There are some helpful things you can do before you call to make sure we process your claim quickly and efficiently:

  • Give us as much information about the incident as you can
  • Let us know before arranging replacement or repairs
  • If theft is involved, tell the police and get a crime reference number

Hello, I'm Bonnie. If something awful happens in your home like your pipe bursts or you get burgled, you may want to make a claim on your home insurance.

We're at the other end of the phone, day and night, to explain what happens and how we'll help to put things right.

In most cases, the first thing to do is to find your policy documents. You'll need your policy number to hand when you call us to make your claim. If you've been burgled, you should call the police first before you call us. They will issue you with a crime reference number which you will need before you can proceed with a claim on your home insurance.

Once we know what's happened, we can suggest the best course of action.

For example, if a storm has loosened some roof tiles and you need to get it fixed, we might simply recommend you get some quotes from a local tradesperson and we'll pay for the cost of the repair. If you use one of our recommended tradespeople, the repairs are guaranteed for 12 months. Alternatively, if the fittings on your flat-screen TV come loose and the screen falls to the floor and smashes, we'll help you replace it quickly. But should the claim be more substantial, say your house has been flooded following a storm, we would most likely send an investigator known as a loss adjuster, to assess the damage to your home so we can work out how to put things right and how much it would cost to repair.
