Here's what you need to know about LV='s purchase of Legal & General Insurance Limited
Legal & General Insurance Limited was bought by Liverpool Victoria General Insurance Group (LV= GI) in January 2020.
You might have some questions about what this means for you, and how it may impact your insurance. Our FAQs below should help you get the answers you're looking for.
Legal & General Insurance Limited, now known as Fairmead Insurance Limited, was bought by LV= in January 2020. As a result, the Legal & General Group no longer provide home insurance policies. Your existing policy remains in place with Legal & General Insurance Limited (renamed Fairmead Insurance Limited), until you receive your LV= renewal.
Legal & General Group will continue to focus on the other areas of their business, such as Investments, Pensions and Life Cover.
We will clearly outline any improvements or changes in your cover and limits when you receive your LV= renewal quote. Please read through your renewal quote and make sure it still meets your needs.
There will be no changes to your current policy until it ends.
You will receive a renewal quote, one month before your policy is due to end.
When your renewal quote arrives, it will include all of the information on how to renew with LV=, which can be done either online or by calling the phone number on your LV= renewal documents.
Please check your renewal quote through, if you need to make any changes to your policy or to pay for your policy - simply get in touch using the phone number on your quote.
You can continue to make changes to your current policy at any time, by simply calling the number on your existing policy documents.
If you need to let LV= know of any changes after receiving your LV= renewal quote, then call the phone number on your LV= renewal documents.
If your policy has ended and your new LV= policy has started, you will speak to our friendly people at LV=, who will have details of your account and previous L&G home insurance policies. To contact LV=, call us on the number on your renewal documents.
If you need to make a claim, call your dedicated claims line.
Our friendly people at LV= will have details of your account and L&G home insurance policy.
We currently have access to your details so we can process your claims in an efficient manner and give you the best service we can.
We will also provide you with a renewal quote if your policy is due to end soon. Remember, if your policy ends and you have not renewed with us or set up a new policy elsewhere, your home will not be insured. If you decide not to stay with us, simply get in touch and let us know. If you don’t renew your policy with LV=, we’ll still have access to records relating to your previous policy, as we’re under a legal obligation to do so.
During this change, LV= and Legal & General Insurance Limited (renamed Fairmead Insurance Limited) have prioritised the security and management of your personal information.
