Do I really need a Green Card? What if I don’t have one?

Yes, the local authorities in each country need to see a hard copy of your Green Card to prove you have valid insurance. A digital copy on a smartphone or tablet is not acceptable under the Green Card system.

You may be refused entry to the country or you may be accused of driving without insurance and could be subject to a fine. You could also have your vehicle seized or face prosecution. This would not be covered by your insurance.
