- LV= donates presents to Poole Hospital Children's ward.
- Father Christmas, Elsa and Batman bring Christmas cheer to the children
- LV= Charity raised £6,000 for new treatment room on the ward.
On the 14th December Santa and his merry friends took a break from their busy schedule to bring early Christmas gifts to poorly children who are spending the festive period in Poole Hospital Children's ward.
Santa was able to make this special trip thanks to gift donations from LV= staff, and some of the LV= team joined Santa, Elsa and Batman on their rounds of the ward.
The donated presents were wrapped and individually chosen for each of the children. Santa and his helpers then went on a tour of the children’s ward, with Christmas music and a lot of cheer, handing out presents to the youngsters.
Tracey Fordham, a health play specialist on the children's ward, said:
"We just wanted to say a big thank you for your visit today with the lovely ladies who came with presents for all the children on our unit. They sat in the playroom and wrapped up all the gifts and accompanied Santa and Batman and Elsa on their trip around the children’s unit and helped Santa get the correct gifts to the right children. The children had a fantastic time and really brought the Christmas spirit to the unit today. We really appreciate your kindness in thinking of the children who are in hospital at this time. All of the children and Staff really enjoyed seeing Santa and his lovely Elves and all were very excited all afternoon."
This isn’t the first time LV= has helped the Poole Hospital Children's ward. The team were shown the new treatment room that LV= helped build. £6,000 was donated to help buy equipment for this room through a charity golf day in 2014, and it was good to see the room in its finished state.
