- Simon Francis visited Corpus Christi school with the Capital One Trophy
- LV= sponsor a healthy lifestyle project with the Championship football team
- Hundreds of children have already benefited from the programme
Pupils at Dorset’s Corpus Christi School enjoyed an afternoon they’ll never forget following a visit from right-back Simon Francis from local Championship football team AFC Bournemouth. He also brought the Capital One Cup trophy with him for photo opportunities.
The player was visiting children as part of the LV= sponsored healthy lifestyle project, which is run by the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust in partnership with the LV= Bournemouth Community Committee.
Following the previous year's successful sponsorship of the programme which saw hundreds of children benefit from the course, LV= we renewed our sponsorship for 2015 to benefit an additional ten schools. Children at each school will learn about healthy living and the value of regular exercise and a balanced diet from AFC Bournemouth experienced staff.
"It certainly was a special day for the children," head of the Community Sports Trust Steve Cuss said. "As always, it was great to have the support of the players, which is something that captures the kids' imagination and helps deliver the message."
"But to be able to see the trophy and get to hold it is something that not many people get to do. The healthy lifestyle project has been going really well since it started up again and this was another great session. I must thank LV= for getting behind the scheme and for helping make a difference in the community."
