Over a million older people in England are chronically lonely.  With numbers so vast, and empathy being at the heart of LV=, we were keen to continue lending support and help to make a difference to those who may be lonely or isolated.  

Through Age UK, our employee volunteers are matched to an older person based on shared interests and hobbies.   

Once matched, our volunteer and older person have a friendly 30 minute chat at the same time each week.

By giving up their time our people are helping to make a difference to those most in need of personal contact.

2017 will see the continuation of our support with 60 LV= volunteers giving time to the Age UK telephone befriending service.
