Everyone’s lifestyles change over time, and the LV= Flexible Protection Plan (personal and business) can adapt as your client’s life changes.

Your client can increase the cover (within certain limits) without medical underwriting if they:

  • change job or receive a pay rise
  • get married / enter into a civil partnership
  • have a baby or legally adopt a child
  • increase their mortgage
  • get divorced / dissolution of civil partnership

Online tele-interviewing

Our in-house, UK-based team can complete the application process for you, saving you time and also speeding up the time it takes to complete an application. They’ll make sure the information collected is accurate, reducing the risk of non-disclosure and taking the worry and responsibility away from you. Booking a tele-interview is simple and can be rearranged online by you or your client, ensuring that we call at a convenient time.

Outstanding underwriting

All our underwriters are highly trained on our product range and underwriting practices, to help ensure a quick and accurate response.

We review each case on an individual basis and review evidence as soon as we receive it, rather than only reviewing the application once all the evidence has been received; this is proven to speed up the process.

  • Our online application is powered by a strong, intelligent underwriting rules engine which means that your client is more likely to get an instant decision
  • We have flexible medical examination arrangements. If your client needs a medical examination, where possible we'll make sure that they're seen by their local GP, and if appropriate offer a suitable alternative with our nationwide healthcare networks
  • We pay for medical underwriting (except medical certificates such as sick notes)
  • And lastly, we have a dedicated pre-underwriting helpline to help you iron out any potential issues that could impact your client's application.

Our underwriting support and contacts

Overseas cover

Unlike some other providers, we don’t place a limit on the amount of time that your client can spend overseas, and won’t automatically cancel their cover they then choose to live in another country.

If your client is diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses listed, we will pay their claim provided the diagnosis has been confirmed by a doctor who practices in one of the following countries:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Channel Islands, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg , Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK or USA.

If your client is diagnosed in a country not listed above, they will need to go to one of the countries listed in order to get the diagnoses confirmed before we are able to consider your clients claim.

Large Case Team support

For Critical Illness cases with cover over £500,000, we have a dedicated team who you can rely on to look after your client’s application. They’ll follow the application through from start to finish, and actively chase and review evidence to get the cover in place as quickly and smoothly as possible.

We're a mutual not a PLC

As a mutual, we’re owned by our members. We don't have to answer to external shareholders and this means we can concentrate on looking after you and your clients.

When your client takes out a Life and Critical Illness plan, they become LV= members. This entitles them to benefits including:
