For clients living in the United Kingdom

If your client has an LV= protection, savings, retirement policy or an equity release loan and they live in the UK now.

We don’t believe their policy or the service they receive from us will be impacted by Brexit.

As always, if they have an investment with LV= it’s important to remember that risks are involved in any investment and values can go up as well as down. Political uncertainty can lead to market volatility and these things can affect the way investments perform.

For clients who live in EU countries

If your client has an LV= protection, savings, retirement policy or an equity release loan and they have moved to an EU country.

A small number of our 1.3 million members and customers live in the European Union / European Economic Area or might be thinking about doing so.

Shortly after the UK officially left the EU, we sent a letter to these policyholders to acknowledge the fact and reassure them of a few things:

  • Their policy conditions and benefits have not changed.
  • We’ll continue to run LV= from our offices in the UK.
  • They won’t notice any difference in the way we communicate or in our standard of service.
  • We remain a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme which protects consumers, wherever they live, against the failure of any UK authorised financial services business. More information can be found on the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) website.

Our policy is that if your client plans to live overseas temporarily or permanently, they should maintain a UK bank account, so that we can exchange any money between us in Sterling. As long as this is the case we are very happy to continue looking after them and any policies they have with us.

Our equity release loans are only available to UK resident borrowers who are occupying their property in England, Scotland or Wales.

As negotiations continue with the EU, we’ll continue to monitor the situation and will be in touch with any policyholders who live in the EU if anything directly impacts their relationship with us.

Our commitment to you
