LV= delivers bespoke minibus to Children's Hospice South West

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) can continue to support local families after receiving a brand new bespoke minibus as part of LV= Brokers’ BIG HEART Charity Giveaway.

The charity, which provides respite and specialist care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families, won the LV= Broker minibus through an online vote by the insurer’s broker partners after it was nominated by South West broker, Higos Insurance Services.

LV= Broker Managing Director, Mike Crane, hand delivered the specially designed minibus to the charity’s Charlton Farm hospice near Bristol last week, and said: “We’re honoured to be able to support a charity which provides such an invaluable service to children and local families when they need it most. The work Children’s Hospice South West does is incredible and we’re really happy that we’ve been able to help them.”

Kate Fisher, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW added: “The minibus will make a huge difference to our children and families; helping us make the most of short and precious lives by enabling all our children to enjoy outings and create special memories. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for CHSW to be the recipient of this vehicle.”

CHSW is going to use the minibus for a variety of different activities, for example the charity’s ‘Sibling Team’, which looks after the brothers and sisters of the life-limited children who are supported by the hospice, will use it for day trips to the zoo or cinema. Many of these children can feel left out and don’t often get the chance to enjoy trips such as this due to the pressures their families are under with caring for an unwell child. The new minibus will ensure many more children will not miss out on these excursions.

The children’s hospice was one of four UK charities nominated by insurance brokers for LV= Broker’s third annual BIG HEART Charity Giveaway. The business invited all its broker partners to nominate a local charity which they felt deserved to win the minibus. A shortlist of four UK charities was then put forward for brokers to vote for.
