LV= boosts Doctor Services features to include physiotherapy, psychotherapy and a discount on health MOTs

LV= has expanded its Doctor Services benefit to provide remote access to physiotherapy, psychological experts and support services, plus a 25% discount on health MOTs.

These new additions are available with all new LV= protection, business protection and retirement policies. LV= policyholders now have access to six expert medical services, at no added cost, through the LV= Doctor Services smartphone app, or by telephone.

The addition of physiotherapy services to LV= Doctor Services allows policyholders to access up to five remote sessions a year, plus treatment programmes and support, without the need for a referral from their GP.  These can help with the assessment and treatment of issues such as back and neck pains, joint sprains and trapped nerves.

Meanwhile, the newly added psychological services provide remote access to up to five consultations with a mental health professional, plus a range of approved consultative behavioural therapy programmes. These can provide confidential and structured support for those suffering from the onset of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and insomnia and sleep disorders.

LV= Doctor Services users will now also receive a 25% discount on health MOTs, carried out by a medical professional at a local surgery – with a choice of assessments to suit their budget. Based on the results, the assessments also include personalised lifestyle and healthcare recommendations.

Provided by partner Square Health and originally launched in 2017, LV= Doctor Services enables more people to access expert health services and support quickly, easily and conveniently  - to fit in with their busy everyday lives. The newly added services complement the existing Remote GP, Prescription and Second Opinion services already available with LV= Doctor Services.

Chris McNab, Head of Protection at LV= said: “At LV=, we’re committed to increasing the everyday tangible value for our policyholders, so that we can help them to overcome moments of vulnerability and live more confident lives.

When we launched LV= Doctor Services with our partner Square Health in 2017, we wanted to address the struggles people often experience in accessing expert medical help and support. Offering convenient access to UK GPs and services through the app has helped people receive expert healthcare faster.

We recognise too that many people suffer from mental health issues and strains and pains, and that they often try to muddle through.  Yet these conditions can wear us down and lead to more serious longer lasting complications. Adding remote access to physiotherapy and psychological support services, plus discounted health MOTs offer an easy and convenient solution, with speedy access to medical experts.  Together with comprehensive insurance cover, LV= Doctor Services allows advisers to offer more value within their protection recommendations and help their clients take greater control over their health and wellbeing.”

Dr Bippon Vinayak, CEO of Square Health, said: “We are proud to have partnered LV= since the inception of Doctor Services in 2017.  We applaud LV=’s initiative in expanding Doctor Services to include a wide range of readily accessible healthcare services and are delighted to be able to build our partnership with them. The services cover a wide range of everyday physical and mental healthcare needs which members with busy lifestyles will greatly value as they can access them at any time. Every consultation has a wellness component, where appropriate, guiding members to a healthier lifestyle.”

LV= Doctor Services is a non-contractual benefit available to new individual and business protection, and retirement policyholders. The service is provided by Square Health and more details of the service can be found at
