The UK's largest friendly society LV= has announced a new life and pensions management team, following the launch of its newly acquired flexible retirement solutions business.

David Evans takes on the role of Sales and Marketing Director for the LV= life and pensions business, overseeing both intermediary and direct channel activity. David was previously Managing Director at 'Tomorrow', the former GE Life business that LV= acquired from Swiss Re in January 2008.

John Perks, LV= Customer Solutions Director, now takes responsibility for all life and pensions product propositions, spanning protection, pensions, life investments, annuities and equity release. John joined LV= in 2007 having previously held roles with Prudential, Swiss Life and Axa. David and John both report to Rodney Cook, Managing Director of the LV= Life and Pensions business.

Vanessa Owen has been promoted to the position of Head of Equity Release and Technical Services. A qualified member of the Personal Finance Society, and a member of the ABI Consumer Strategy Committee, Vanessa has worked at LV= for 11 years in senior positions in compliance, IFA support and life and pensions product development.

Chris McFarlane has been promoted to the new role of Head of Protection and Pricing, retaining responsibility for all pricing activity across the life and pensions business. Chris has worked at LV= for four years, and previously held roles at Swiss Life and UNUM, and is a qualified actuary.

Matthew Trott, Head of Annuities, and Ray Chinn, Head of Pensions, retain the roles they previously performed at ‘Tomorrow', with wider responsibility now across the whole LV= annuity and pensions portfolios.

Stuart Tragheim takes on the new role of Distribution Strategy and Business Development Director, responsible for marketing, national accounts and e-commerce. Previously Director of Intermediary Business at LV=, Stuart joined the friendly society in 2005 from the Association of British Insurers, where he had been Director of the ABI's Raising Standards scheme. He was also previously Sales Director at the Teachers Friendly Society.

Heidi Welch retains the position of Direct Distribution Director with responsibility for promoting life products direct to consumers. Recent activity in this area has centred around the successful Cilla Black fronted TV advertising campaign for the LV= 50 Plus Plan whole of life protection product.

Vanessa Owen, Chris McFarlane, Matthew Trott and Ray Chinn report to Customer Solutions Director John Perks. Stuart Tragheim and Heidi Welch report to Sales and Marketing Director David Evans.
