Press release: 21/06/2012

Insurance, investment and retirement group LV= has appointed Wendy Mayall as Chief Investment Officer.

In her new role Wendy will be responsible for all elements of LV='s investment strategy. She will provide advice and support to LV='s different business areas and will oversee the relationship with Threadneedle Investments, who manage the Society's assets. Wendy will report into Philip Moore, Group Finance Director.

Wendy has a wealth of experience in the investment field, much of which was gained during a 17 year tenure at Unilever where Wendy ran the biggest fund and was responsible for setting up the first multinational vehicle to pool funds globally, the hedge fund-of-funds and numerous equity multi-manager vehicles. Most recently Wendy has been a strategic advisor for Stamford Associates, a leading fiduciary management and manager research firm, which she jointly founded in 1987. Wendy also appears on the Top 100 women in finance list as published by Financial News.

Commenting on the appointment, Philip Moore, said: "This is an important role within LV= so I am delighted that someone of Wendy's calibre is joining us. Wendy will join my senior team and play a key part in ensuring our investment performance is strong and our members can continue to enjoy market–leading returns on their investment products."
