LV= employee wins national rising star award

Press release: 07/06/2012

A Bournemouth-based LV= employee has won the prestigious rising star award at the UK Claims Awards. Emma Church, Business Support Manager, won at the insurance claims industry awards held at the Royal Opera House last week.

The awards celebrate those that have made a significant difference in the insurance industry in the past year. The rising star category recognises people under 30 who show exceptional ability within the insurance claims area specifically. Emma was recognised for introducing initiatives that have reduced costs and improved business processes. Her new initiatives have also improved the overall customer experience.

The host of the evening described the rising star award as a "tough category" with many "excellent candidates" competing for the award. Emma was up against nominees from several other major insurers working in claims handling.

Peter Horton, Chief Operating Officer for general insurance at LV=, said: "We are delighted that Emma has received external recognition for the work she has done at LV=. This is a great achievement for someone of Emma's age. At LV= we always put customer service at the heart of our business and the changes that Emma initiated have hugely improved the service that we offer our customers."

About LV=

LV= employs 5,000 people and serves around five million customers with a range of financial products. We are the UK's largest friendly society and a leading financial mutual.

When we started in 1843 our goal was to give financial security to more than just a privileged few and for many decades we were most commonly associated with providing a method of saving to people of modest means. Today we follow a similar purpose, helping people to protect and provide for the things they love, although on a much larger scale and through a wide range of financial services including insurance, investment and retirement products.

We offer our services direct to consumers, as well as through IFAs and brokers, and through strategic partnerships with organisations such as ASDA, Nationwide Building Society and a range of trades unions.
