Cilla Black stars in LV='s new life insurance advert

Insurance specialist LV= today unveils Cilla Black as the face of its television advertising campaign for its 50 Plus plan.

The TV advertisement features Cilla in an exhibition about the 1960s, and reminiscing about the excitement of the events that took place – the arrival of the Beatles on the music scene, the first man on the moon, and the rise of Swinging London as the capital of cool. Coming across a photo of herself at the start of her career, Cilla talks about how everything changes and the importance of being prepared for the future.

The new advertisement was designed by creative marketing agency redtag and will air from January 2014 on a mix of digital and satellite channels across breakfast, coffee, daytime and pre-peak.

Cilla Black has recently been celebrating her 50th year in show business, with a television special ‘The One and Only Cilla Black’ and appearances on other shows including a return to ‘Surprise Surprise’ in recent weeks.

Geoff Bates, Head of Marketing for LV= Life said: “Cilla has proved incredibly popular throughout her career and is still instantly recognisable to millions. In the advert, she talks about experiencing personal loss, something we can all relate to, and the importance of being prepared financially. We hope this message will encourage people to think about whether they have insurance in place to help their loved ones or help towards funeral costs when they’re no longer around.”

LV=’s 50 Plus plan celebrates its 10th anniversary this year having launched in October 2004 and is available to 50 to 80 year olds living in the UK. The life insurance plan provides guaranteed cover with a cash lump sum payable on death, without the need for a medical or answering any health questions.
