In 2022 our colleagues raised money to support Ukraine and our fundraising included a Hope vs Glory challenge
Two teams competed to cycle on static bikes, the amount of miles from our Bournemouth head office to Kyiv in Ukraine.
The Hope vs Glory challenge
We invited all LV= colleagues to take part in the challenge. 75 colleagues climbed Pen y Fan in Wales as many times as possible in 24 hours.
By the end, Pen y Fan was ascended an incredible 313 times, the equivalent of climbing Everest from basecamp 41 times. An amazing result that reflected remarkable individual efforts from every single participant. And we’re delighted that the challenge raised over £26,000 for such an important cause.
For the second year running, the winner of the challenge was Team Hope with an impressive 172 ascents. Team Glory never gave up and were not far behind with 141 ascents.
Here’s what our team captains had to say about the experience
What a weekend! Huge congratulations to all those that took part – they persevered through some very tough conditions and achieved something incredible. Together we’ve accomplished something amazing and raised an incredible amount which will fund some lifesaving support for those in need.
After months of planning, it was amazing to see the Hope vs Glory 24 hour mountain challenge come to life and to see everyone enjoying themselves. The weather was tough, especially during the night, but hats off to everyone for pushing through. I'm so proud of everyone who took part. What's really special is how much money we've raised. This event was also great for bringing people from different parts of the business together.
