The sun continues to shine on LV= Kidzone

Having had another busy, sunny summer on the south coast this year, we’re proud to have continued our sponsorship of LV= KidZone.

We’ve helped reunite more kids with their parents on Bournemouth and Poole beaches than ever before!

  • 192 children went missing in the six week summer holidays
  • 72,400 wristbands were given out which is 29,200 up on last year
  • Wristbands are issued so that lost children can be easily reunited with parents

Keep your children safe on the beach with wristbands

Parents with young children on Bournemouth and Poole’s beaches were once again reassured that there was another set of eyes looking out for their young ones, courtesy of LV= Kidzone, our popular safety scheme.

LV= Kidzone is an annual fixture on the town’s beaches, and last year helped reunite more than 192 children with their parents. Despite it being so busy on the beaches this year it only took an average of eight minutes and eight seconds to bring the families back together.

How does it work?

The stretch of sandy beachfront between Poole and Southbourne is split into distinctive colourful zones, each with an easy-to-remember aquatic logo (ice cream, crab, etc.)To help keep track of their children during their visit and enable people working on the beach and authorities to identify and find lost children, parents and guardians are asked to follow three simple steps:

  1. Grab a free waterproof wristband from one of the dedicated and easily-identifiable LV= Kidzone employees, a LV= Kidzone wristband dispenser, or any seafront office
  2. Write their contact number on the wristband and attach it to the child’s wrist
  3. Sit within the colour-coded beach markers matching the colour on the wristband

Our sponsorship of this important child safety initiative supports our commitment to supporting local communities.
