Travel Insurance (Policies bought before 1st May 2008)

Travel Insurance is underwritten by ELVIA Travel Insurance International N.V. (Netherlands) and is administered in the UK by Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited.

ELVIA Travel Insurance International N.V. (Netherlands) are authorised by the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) in the Netherlands and are regulated by the Financial Service Authority for the conduct of UK business.

Mondial Assistance (UK) Limited Registered in England No. 1710361 Mondial House, 102 George Street, Croydon CR9 1AJ VAT No. GB 344 9108 53 are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and entered on the Financial Services Authority Register, No. 311909.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about any aspect of the service you receive from Liverpool Victoria, please phone us quoting your reference number. Alternatively, you can write to us at: Box 2, Liverpool Victoria, County Gates, Bournemouth. BH1 2NF.

Making a complaint will not affect your right to take legal action. We operate a written complaints procedure in accordance with the Financial Services Authority and you may be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Details of our complaints handling process are available on request.

Compensation Scheme

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.  You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations.  This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. The compensation limits for different types of business are as follows;

Compulsory Insurance (e.g. 3rd party motor insurance)
100% of the claim, and the maximum compensation is unlimited.

Non-compulsory Insurance (e.g. home and general)
100% of the first £2,000 plus 90% of the rest of the claim, and the maximum compensation is unlimited.

Long Term Insurance (e.g. pensions and life assurance)
100% of the first £2,000 plus 90% of the rest of the claim, and the maximum compensation is unlimited.

Bank Cash ISA
100% of the first £35,000 of each depositor's claim.

Deposits
100% of the first £35,000 of each depositor's claim.

Investments
100% of the first £30,000 and 90% of the next £20,000, so the maximum compensation is £48,000.

The actual level of compensation you receive will depend upon the basis of your claim.
