LV= Mortgage and Lifestyle Protection can help you pay your mortgage and living expenses when you no longer have an income.

Here are some frequently asked questions we've been asked about our Mortgage and Lifestyle Protect product which you may find helpful before making your decision.

1. What is Mortgage and Lifestyle Protection?

Mortgage & Lifestyle Protection gives you long-term protection for your mortgage or rent payments to protect the home you love. It can also cover the cost of living if you can't work because of sickness or an accident. You also have the option of taking out unemployment cover. See types of cover.

2. What does Mortgage and Lifestyle Protection protect against?

The plan helps to protect your income long term, if you're unable to work as a result of an accident or sickness. You also have the option to add unemployment cover, which offers some protection if you become unemployed, to help you meet your mortgage payments and living expenses over a short period.

3. Is the premium guaranteed?

Yes, the premium is guaranteed for the term of the plan. There are no premium reviews or increases, no matter how many claims are made. Where inflation-linked cover is chosen (only available for Living Expenses Protection), the premium and cover increase each year in line with increases in the Retail Prices Index.

If you choose unemployment cover, the premium you pay includes Insurance Premium Tax. If the government change the rate of insurance premium tax, then the premium you pay may also change.

4. Can I cancel the plan at any time?

Yes, all you have to do is contact us. Once you've cancelled your direct debit payments your cover will stop and you'll no longer be insured. Remember, this plan has no cash in value at any time, so if you cancel your plan you get nothing back.

5. Can mortgage and living expenses protection have independent terms?

Yes. Terms for each policy under the plan can be the same, or overlap.
