Member Support Fund
The Member Support Fund was created in 2001 to help members of LV= who, through no fault of their own, had fallen on hard times.

How does the Member Support Fund work?
The fund is managed by a small independent committee of LV= members who look at each request and decide whether a grant can be awarded.
If you're struggling to make ends meet you can apply to the Member Support Fund for financial help. You can apply for a grant so long as you have been a member of LV= for at least 12 months.
You will need to fill in an application form which will be assessed by the committee.
How the LV= Member Support Fund can help
Patrick
Patrick is 57 and has numerous life limiting medical conditions. He is registered disabled and unable to work.
Unable to afford to make any large purchases, Patrick was anxious to buy a new bed and replace his broken washing machine – essentials to enhance his life.
The LV= Member Support Fund was able to give Patrick £600 towards these two items.
Wendy
Wendy, a retired care assistant, lives in Somerset. Her son Peter contracted meningitis as a baby which left him brain damaged, and he now lives in a Mencap home 270 miles away from his mum in Yorkshire.
Wendy asked for a grant to help her buy two computers and webcams so she could see her son when she spoke to him between visits.
We gave Wendy £560 towards the cost of the computers and webcams.
Steven
Steven is 43 and used to be a decorator. In 2009 he suffered a stroke which meant he had to give up his job and left him unable to walk without help.
Steven was given £3,850 so he could make changes to his bathroom and most importantly create level access into the shower.
