Mortgage payment protection - The basic facts
- Protects you long-term against loss of income because of accident or sickness.
- Get regular payments to help towards your rent or mortgage payments and the cost of living while you can't work.
- Choose from level or inflation linked cover for your living expenses (you can only have level cover on your mortgage).
- No limit to the number of claims.
- If you stop paying premiums you won't get any money back and you'll no longer be covered.

- You can add unemployment cover but it's not available on it's own.
- You won't have to pay your premiums while we are paying your claim.
Important information
- We'll only pay a maximum of 12 months unemployment cover for any one claim, and a total of 36 months over the lifetime of a plan.
- Level cover won't keep up with inflation so will buy less in the future.
- Premiums for unemployment cover include insurance premium tax, if the government were to change this tax your premiums may also change.
How to buy mortgage payment protection
All we ask is that you're a UK resident, you're aged 17 to 59, your plan lasts for at least five years and your mortgage payment protection is at least £5 a month.
