Travel insurance optional cover
We offer two optional selections of cover available to both our Essential and Premier policies.
Baggage/personal belongings and money
Add baggage/personal belongings cover to your travel policy and we’ll cover your possessions up to the value of £3,000 on the Premier policy and £2,000 with the Essential policy. This includes any equipment you might be taking away with you such as skis and golf clubs.
The single item limit is £500 on the Premier policy and £300 on the Essential policy.
Winter sports
Add winter sports cover to your travel policy and we'll cover you for emergency medical expenses, personal accident benefit and personal liability if an incident occurs while doing a winter sports activity.
Activities covered by choosing winter sports cover are:
- Skiing
- Big-foot skiing
- Cross-country skiing
- Mono-skiing
- Glacier skiing
- Indoor skiing
- Sledging and Tobogganing
- Snowboarding
- Snowblading
- Snowmobiling/skidooing (but there is no personal liability cover for this activity)
- Off piste skiing and snowboarding are covered when skiing within the ski area boundaries of a recognised ski resort and following ski patrol guidelines.
Activities not covered include: Bobsleighing, Heli skiing, luging, ski acrobatics, ski flying, ski jumping, ski mountaineering, ski racing, ski randonee, ski stunting , ski touring, snow cat skiing.

Cover for any costs of lift passes and tuition if you have to cancel or cut short your trip, piste closure and if you’re affected by an avalanche or landslide are covered as standard on LV= travel insurance.
If you add winter sports to an annual multi-trip policy, you'll get 17 days worth of winter sports cover on the Essential policy and 31 days on the Premier policy.
If you want cover for your baggage/personal belongings including your skis and any other winter sports equipment, please add the optional baggage/personal belongings and money cover to your policy.
