Home Insurance Fraud
At LV= we'll deal with your home insurance claims as quickly as possible, while also trying to stop those trying to commit home insurance fraud.

Sadly, we know that there are some people who'll try and defraud us by making false home insurance claims, lying about their claims history or the value of their home or their possessions.
This fraudulent behaviour ends up making home insurance more expensive for everyone, so we check all new home insurance policies and claims for fraud against various databases.
The tools we use to fight home insurance fraud include:
- the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE): has the details of most home and car insurance claims and is run by Insurance Database Services Ltd.
- Insurance Hunter: designed to stop crimes like identity theft and money laundering
Tools like this help us to keep our prices low and our home insurance fair for everyone.
If we think someone has deliberately given us false information or we find anything unusual, we'll look into it and report it to the police if necessary. This can lead to prosecutions and criminal convictions for fraud.
We really appreciate your cooperation in helping us fight insurance fraud. If you'd like to know more or speak to us about fraud please call us.
Fraudulent home insurance claims
One of the areas where some people try to commit fraud is in submitting fraudulent home insurance claims. This ranges from submitting a claim for an item that doesn't exist, or has never been lost or damaged, to the deliberate exaggeration of the amount of a claim. We're taking steps to make sure that people submitting genuine claims get what they deserve, and to catch out those who are trying to commit fraud.
