Recovery to chosen destination

If, in our opinion, your car can't be fixed at the roadside following up to an hours labour, your car will be transported, with up to 7 passengers, to a garage for repairs (we don't cover the cost of repairs or further recoveries).  If the car can't be repaired by the end of the day we'll transport it to a destination of your choice.

If you choose to be towed to your final destination, it is then your responsibility to get the car repaired; you can't call to have your vehicle recovered again on your return trip.

Accident Recovery

If your car is damaged and you need it to be fixed under your car insurance policy, call the motor claims line right away. We'll arrange for you to be towed to a garage. This will speed up the claims process.

Caravan / Trailer Cover (Excluding Home Assist)

If you're towing a caravan or trailer when you break down, your policy covers the cost of recovering your caravan or trailer. We won't cover the cost of towing a caravan or trailer from your home address to a suitable repairer.

Home Assist

Up to 1 hour's labour within a ¼ of a mile from your home.  This may include repair and/or fitting of new parts.  The cost of the parts isn't covered.

Emergency Telephone Number

The emergency telephone number is included in the Road Rescue "Welcome Pack".  It's the number you need to call if you breakdown.

Theft or Vandalism

If your car is damaged and you need it to be fixed under your car insurance policy, call the motor claims line right away. We'll arrange for you to be towed to a garage. This will speed up the claims process.

Priority for lone women drivers and members who feel in a vulnerable position

If you are a female on her own, have young children in the car, are disabled, or are a Road Rescue customer in a vulnerable situation, let the controller know when you report a breakdown, as you'll be given priority.

Windscreen and Tyre Replacement

If you're driving and your windscreen is damaged you can call Road Rescue and they will get someone out to fix/replace it. You'll have to pay for the cost of the new windscreen. You can then claim this back under your Car Insurance (less the windscreen excess).

If you're driving and need a new tyre, or have a spare tyre that you need help changing, Road Rescue will get someone out to help you change your tyre or supply you with a new tyre, fit it, and get you on your way. You'll have to pay for the cost of the new tyre.

Relief Driver

If you're away from home and fall ill, or are injured, and are the only person able to drive your car, Road Rescue may provide you with a relief driver who will take you home or to your chosen destination.

If you choose not to be taken home and want to continue your journey, you won't be able to use this service on your return journey for the same illness/injury.

This is not for minor ailments.  You must send a medical certificate to Britannia Rescue within 7 days, or you may be liable for the cost of the service.

Driver Negligence

If you breakdown because you run out of oil, fuel or run down your battery, Road Rescue will get someone to come out to you and get your car going again in other words, get you fuel, oil etc. You'll have to pay for the cost of any fuel, oil etc.

Liverpool Victoria Road Rescue is provided by Britannia Rescue.
