With LV=, there are three different ways to take out Road Rescue cover.

1. Add Road Rescue as an optional extra to your new LV= Car Insurance quote

From £27 a year - Add Road Rescue as an extra when you get a quote for your car insurance and choose from five levels of breakdown cover, so you're only paying for the cover that you need.

2. Add Road Rescue to your existing LV= Car Insurance policy

From £27 a year - If you already have LV= Car Insurance, you can add Road Rescue at any point during the year, and we'll charge you the proportional cost to include this cover until next renewal.

3. Take out Road Rescue as a separate standalone policy

From £29 a year - If you don't want to add Breakdown Cover to your new or existing LV= Car Insurance policy, you can have it as a standalone policy. This cover is provided by our sister company, Britannia Rescue.

Road Rescue breakdown cover and Personal cover details

We like to be transparent with our customers. That's why we have clearly detailed all the options available with our breakdown cover service.

Product	Details
Roadside Assist	Roadside assistance if your car breaks down more than a quarter of a mile from your home. If the agent cannot repair the fault at the roadside, you and your passengers will be taken to a suitable garage or a destination of your choice (up to 10 miles from where your car broke down).
Roadside & Home Assist	Roadside Assist as well as: Home assistance if your car fails to start at your home address.
UK Recovery	Roadside assistance if your car breaks down more than a quarter of a mile from your home. If the agent cannot repair the fault at the roadside or at a local garage by the end of the day, you and your passengers will be taken to a destination of your choice, anywhere in the UK. We will also supply a relief driver if the driver of the car cannot continue the journey due to illness or injury.
UK Recovery & Home Assist	UK Recovery as well as: Home assistance if your car fails to start at your home address. If the agent cannot repair the fault by the end of the day you will have the option of a hire car, alternative transport or overnight accommodation. We will also pay for a rail ticket so that you can collect your car once it has been repaired.
UK & European Assist	UK Recovery & Home Assist as well as: Breakdown cover in Europe if you regularly travel to Europe with your car. European cover includes cover before you travel where a hire car will be provided, your car and passengers will be brought back to the UK following a breakdown, overnight accommodation while your car is being repaired and a relief driver, if needed.
Personal Cover (optional)	Cover for you and your partner in any privately owned car you drive or travel in. Personal Cover can be added to any of the covers mentioned above. When taking out Personal Cover, we'll need the personal details of the second driver to be covered (title, initials, first name and surname). Personal Cover can only be used when driving in the UK. It doesn't cover you on European journeys.
