LV= announces investment linked annuities masterclass

Retirement specialist, LV= is hosting a series of master classes with annuity expert, Billy Burrows. The classes are designed to raise financial advisers’ awareness of the benefits of investment-linked annuity products.

Two morning sessions will run on 17 and 20 July and will cover the alternatives to guaranteed annuities and how to maximise clients’ income; how investment-linked annuities work; and the factors to consider when assessing suitability. Advisers will also be given guidance on how to discuss investment-linked annuities with clients.

Michelle Cutler, LV= Head of Investment Linked Annuities, said: “For those approaching retirement the need to make their income go further is a key concern. At a time when gilt yields are falling, a traditional guaranteed annuity is no longer the most appropriate retirement solution for many.

“There has been increased client interest in investment-linked annuities but, due to unfamiliarity with these products, some advisers don’t include them when advising clients on retirement options. The aim of these master classes is to support advisers and help them to feel confident in discussing investment-linked annuities with their clients.”
