At LV= we're proud of our Defaqto Star Ratings. So far we've achieved the top level of 5 Stars for our car insurance, home insurance, and travel insurance (Premier cover).
What is Defaqto?
Defaqto is a leading UK independent financial research company, specialising in rating, comparing and analysing financial products. Defaqto delivers timely and accurate information to all layers of the financial services sector including banks, insurers, advisers, comparison web sites, regulatory agencies and consumers.
Why is a Defaqto Star Rating important?
Choosing on the basis of price alone means you may get a policy that suits your pocket but doesn't necessarily give you the features and benefits, cover and customer assistance you want. A Defaqto Star Rating reflects the level of features and benefits offered within a financial product, helping you make a more informed decision about which one best suits your needs.
How is a Defaqto Star Rating achieved?
The more comprehensive the level of features and benefits offered by a product, the higher the Defaqto Star Rating it is given.
If you compare two policies, the 5 Star rated policy will generally offer more features and benefits of a higher quality than a 4 Star rated one.
The Star Ratings that we achieved reflect the outstanding quality of our policies and gives you confidence that LV= products offer the highest level of cover for all events.
We have the following Star Ratings:
Car insurance
Our car insurance offers excellent levels of cover, such as a courtesy car for up to 14 days if yours is written off, full replacement for child seats, cover for audio equipment and much more. These are just a few of the features which have helped us earn our 5 Star Rating.
Home insurance
Our home insurance offers an excellent range of cover such as cover for business equipment, cost of alternative accommodation and legal expenses plus more. You can only achieve a 5 Star Rating if you provide some of the highest quality cover in the market.
Travel Insurance (Premier cover)
Our travel insurance offers two policies, Essential and Premier - both offering benefits for UK, European or Worldwide travel.
Our Premier policy has achieved a 5 Star Rating for its excellent features that include up to £10m cover for emergency medical expenses and much more.
