LV= is a friendly society and is incorporated under the Friendly Societies Act 1992 as Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society Limited.
We're bound by the Friendly Societies Act as well as our own Memorandum of Association and Rules.
These Rules set out how we're governed, how you become a member, the election of directors and the process for Annual General Meetings and Special Meetings of our members.

We also aim to follow the annotated version of the Combined Code on Corporate Governance and best practice guidance from the Association of Financial Mutuals (AFM), even though we're not formally bound by it.
