Special General Meeting (SGM) 2008

A Special General Meeting (SGM) was held on 1st October 2008 at the Marriott Highcliff Hotel in Bournemouth to consider and approve the proposed Special Resolution relating to the transfer of insurance business from Liverpool Victoria Life Company Limited to Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society Limited under Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.


SGM 2008 Results

The total number of votes cast in person or by proxy at the SGM was: 63,824

  • Votes for the resolution: 58,964 (96.16%)
     
  • Votes against the resolution: 2,355 (3.84%)
     
  • Abstentions: 2,505


The requisite majority being over 75% voting in favour of the resolution was attained and the resolution was therefore carried as a Special Resolution. 

Electoral Reform Services, as appointed scrutineers, have confirmed that the result of the voting is accurate and fair.
